No time to write...

So, this hasn’t worked out as well as I had hoped.

The plan was to write down everything I was up to, admittedly out of fear of forgetting stuff, but it turns out that outside of daily life (currently consisting of waking up, getting ready, traveling to work - which includes a healthy jog to catch the train, paper and book time - doing work, traveling home - which includes a healthy jog to catch the train, evening paper and book time - getting home and playing with Matilda and then putting her to bed. There’s not a lot of time left in the day.

Anyway, somethings of interest have happened that are worth noting.

1. I “climbed” my first mountain. Technically I walked up a very steep slope for a friggin’ long time until I got up to a summit 1000 meters higher.

This was it:

Snowdon, in Wales. Apparently it’s Britain’s busiest mountain, which means that most people don’t consider it taxing at all. Me, I ached for days afterwards.

2. Me and Marie have got a cleaner. Something I’m sure I’ve stupidly said in the past that I would never get (other stupid things I’ve said in the past have included: “The drumming in the White Stripes makes me feel sick” and “I’ve not been on the rave scene for a while”… I was 13 at the time, I was on no scene at all), but I’ve got to say, it’s a life changing experience.

3. Tils is outgrowing clothes. An obvious one, but along with her continuing chattiness and awareness, it amazes me at how quick it’s happening. I’m a sap, I know.

Right, that’s it for now. Will update you on my “War against Southern Rail and London Overground, but mainly Southern Rail” as it progresses. I’m just plotting my plan of action for the time being, which admittedly is just me writing a strongly worded letter demanding satisfaction. I need a better POA.

This isn’t the first time I’ve “blogged”. When I lived in America, I used to write about my life for a English speaking Finnish online magazine.

It was pretty much your standard “why do they do this?” and “why do they do that?” sort of stuff, but does have it’s funny moments. Especially when I rail against Americans wearing chino jeans causing one reader to call me “extremely shallow”… hooray!
